A short history of street art in Berlin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Street art was born in New York, in the 70s, before being exported to Europe, where it really took root in the 1980s (even if graffiti has existed for much longer, as evidenced by the cave of Lascaux!) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unsurprisingly,\nwith its free spirit and underground movements,\nBerlin quickly became a stronghold of street art\nin Europe! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Berlin Wall, which had not yet been torn down,\nbecame a canvas of choice where artists and political activists\ngave free rein to their imagination with subversive and revolted\nslogans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later, when the Berlin Wall fell,\nthe industrial wastelands multiplied and became preferred playground\nfor graffiti artists! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, street art\nremains an integral part of Berlin’s urban landscape, turning the city into\na striking open-air museum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
