Built\nbetween 1881 and 1886, this iconic bridge was the work of a disciple of Gustave\nEiffel (who built the Eiffel Tower in Paris), the Belgian engineer Th\u00e9ophile Seyrig. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bridge is named after King Louis I of Portugal, who inaugurated it in 1886. It has two levels, each accessible to pedestrians. It is open every day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (the opening hours vary on December 24 and 25 as well as on December 31 and January 1). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On site, the entrance ticket to the Cl\u00e9rigos Tower is \u20ac5 per person, but be warned: the Cl\u00e9rigos Tower is one of the most touristic monuments in Porto and the queue at the entrance can be very long. And it&#8217;s no surprise, as the library is a charming mix of baroque and neo-gothic styles built in the early 20th century.
